L'epine dans le coeur / The thorn in the heart (2010)
Director, Michel Gondry - Not Rated - Documentary
Michel Gondry chronicles the life of Gondry family matriarch, his aunt Suzette Gondry, and her relationship with her son, Jean-Yves. Gondry wanted to give his aunt a visual record of her life, and the result is a glimpse into the life of a contemporary French family. It is an emotionally moving look at complicated family relationships but is also humorous at times. It can be appreciated not only for truths it reveals but also offers a look into the life of someone who gave her life to the art of teaching.
All films will be shown in the Gallagher Room on the Newtown campus and are in French with English subtitles. These films are FREE and open to the public and are sponsored by the foreign language faculty of the Language and Literature Department and by the Cultural Programming Committee.
