Un air de famille / Family Resemblances (1998)
Director, Cedric Klapisch - Not Rated - Comedy
An upper middle-class French family celebrates a birthday in a restaurant. In one evening and during one meal, family history, tensions, collective and separate grudges, delights, and
memories both clash and coalesce. The film, shot almost in real time, is a tour de force of fascinating dialogue and the verbal “sparring” that can usually only happen among family members. A witty look at family strife through the eyes of vivid and realistic characters.
All films will be shown in the Gallagher Room on the Newtown campus and are in French with English subtitles. These films are FREE and open to the public and are sponsored by the foreign language faculty of the Language and Literature Department and by the Cultural Programming Committee.
