The Nonprofit Certificate program is currently under review and revision. These courses will be credited toward any certificate you have already started or toward any future program established.
Please contact Joan Christianson if you have any questions.
(First class meeting only will be on campus.)
Session I: In order to document the need for your service or the need for the grant money you are seeking, you have to prove that your client exists. You need concrete facts. This course shows you where to begin looking for those facts and how to use the facts once you have them.
Sessions II - V: The research is complete, now it's time to start writing. Each of these four sessions will assist and direct the building of a proposal from concept through boilerplate, and culminating in a completed application. You will use a standard grant form that is actually used in the industry to develop proposals.
Session VI: What happens when your grant is not properly administered? Answer: You might be required to return the entire grant amount. Can you afford this? Learn how to plan for successful execution (carrying out activities), tracking of dollars, time, data recording, financial management and other issues, as well as auditing requirements and final reports.
