BCCC's Mechanical Maintenance program offers two instructional delivery models: On campus or online! This integrated systems and blended learning approach has proven successful in numerous manufacturing and training sites across the country. This approach incorporates: industrial quality equipment, troubleshooting emphasis, and task-based, competency-based curriculum.

AutoCAD®

This 36-hour course is designed for the new AutoCAD user who requires comprehensive training in AutoCAD. It incorporates the features, commands, and techniques for creating, editing, and printing drawings with AutoCAD 2008. Hands-on exercises throughout the course explore how to create 2D production drawings. Prerequisite: A good working knowledge of PC's and Microsoft Windows is necessary for this class. An understanding of basic drafting skills and blueprint reading is helpful.

AutoCAD® 2008 3D Modeling (2nd Level)

This course provides comprehensive AutoCAD MEP training on how to design, model, and make construction documents of electrical distribution systems used in commercial buildings. The handson exercises cover how to design and draw electrical light and power systems and how to turn them into quality construction documents using AutoCAD MEP 2008. Prerequisites: working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Windows XP, plus understanding of basic drafting skills and blueprint reading

DOE for Manufacturing

This 3-day, hands-on workshop will introduce you to the tools and techniques of Design and Analysis of Experiments (DOE). You'll learn how to plan, collect, and interpret data from designed experiments to obtain real-world knowledge to gain a competitive edge. This class is intended for Process & Product Development Engineers and Managers, Technicians, QA staff, and anyone charged with improving processes or products.

Statistical Process Control (SPC) 18 hours

This course will focus on the quality professional with varied exposure to Statistical Process Control. You will learn process variation and increase your knowledge of special and common cause sources of variation. You will review the basics and build on your current knowledge, expanding your skills and use of the application and interpretation of SPC charts. Learn how to use and interpret control charts, and use SPC to achieve world class performance. Topics covered include: Shewhart Control Charts, Control vs. Spec Limits, Calculating Control Chart Limits, Rational Subgroups, Usage of Capability Studies, Capability Indices, etc.

Introduction to Industrial Controls

This 30 hour course will be a combination of theory and hands on labs. Topics include: Industrial wiring methods, 3 phase power, transformers, sensors, operator interfaces, relay logic, programmable controllers, motors, drives, motor controls, communication, and software.

This 60-hour course will provide a basic understanding of theories in the operation of motorcycle fundamentals and covers basic tune up, service, and clutch system. BCCC offers this course in partnership with the Bucks County Technical High School Adult Ed Program.

Technician Basics

Are you considering a career as a renewable energy/weatherization technician, electromechanical technician, industrial maintenance technician, or skilled tradesperson? This course is the first step toward your career path. The course will introduce you to the fundamental concepts and hands-on skills common to a variety of technician positions. Basic technical skills are developed by following a project from design to completion and testing. Topics include use of hand tools, use of assorted measuring devices such as calipers, rules, and micrometers, review of shop math and proper use of calculator, introduction to blueprint reading and interpretation of sketches, drawings, and schematics, industrial safety, basic electrical and mechanical concepts, including electrical safety, and basic concepts of energy efficiency, green technology and sustainability. You will also learn about the various available levels of technical education and training and how they relate to expanded career options.
