Women's Soccer: 2012 Season Recap

With a strong returning class and talented freshmen, Bucks women’s soccer had the best season in their 4 years of varsity existence. They qualified for the playoffs for the first time as the 4th seed, had 2 players selected to the 1st Team All-Region and 1 to the 2nd Team while setting almost every team and individual record at Bucks.
Jessica Williams was selected the 1st Team All-Region XIX. Jess was 19th in the country in scoring with 15 goals, 40th in assists with 7 and 20th in the country in points with 37. In 2011, she was selected to the 2nd Team All-Region XIX. Jess has set the school records for goals, assists and points.
Samantha Kilpatrick was selected the 1st Team All-Region XIX after a 2nd Team selection in 2011. Sam had speed, strength and skill which made her the backbone of the Centurions defense.
Kelly Scheer was selected the 2nd Team All-Region XIX. Kelly finished the season with 7 goals and 4 assists and tied for second in goals for the team. She was easily the most improved player on the team.
Head Coach, Brett Pierson stated, “I’m very proud of our young ladies, they really came together for a fantastic season”. The Centurions averaged almost 3 goals a game with Scheer, Williams and 1st year player, Bethany Bartasavich (7 goals) leading the way. The rookie class contributed greatly to this season as Kelly Kaufmann, Samantha Eiser, Catlin Kelly, Aubrey Penecale made up the midfield with only Eiser as a sophomore. Kymberly Brewton, Kristen Jones helped solidify the defense along with freshmen goalkeeper, Morgan D’Apolito which helped the Centurions to record of only 1.08 goals against per game average.
The Centurions finished the year with an overall record 9-4 and a Region XIX record of 9-2.
