Women's Soccer off to a strong start

9/13/12 (Women's Soccer)

The Bucks Women’s soccer team is off to a strong start. They started the season off against tough competition, the national’s number ranked team in Ocean County College. It was tough and well played game by both sides with saw Ocean come out on top in the final moments with a narrow 2-1 victory over Bucks. Then the Centurions faced Union County College. Bucks overwhelmed Union from the start with an 11-0 win. Next up was cross town rivals, Montgomery County Community College. An intense game by both sides with saw Bucks continually pushing forward and finally breaking through the tough Montgomery defense to claim a 1-0 win.

The fourth game in the home stand was played against Division 1 Mercer County Community College on September 13, 2012 and again, the team had a phenomenal performance. The momentum went back and forth the entire game until a pushing foul was called on Bucks in the Penalty Area with resulted in Mercer scoring from a Penalty Kick. Bucks continued to push forward but Mercer held on a 1-0 victory over the Centurions. Bucks now have a Region XIX record of 2-2. Next up for the women’s team is Raritan Valley Community College in their first away game of the season next Tuesday, September 18, 2012.
