Men's Soccer Defeats Manor

The Bucks men’s soccer team got their first win of the 2014 campaign with a 5-0 victory over the Blue Jays of Manor College on Tuesday afternoon at Manor Field. With high temperatures and the sun beating down, the game was even throughout the beginning of the first half. A quick counterattack lead to Reynaldo Bonilla opening the scoring with a through ball by Ricky Domico. A short time later, Bonilla again scored to give the Centurions a 2-0 halftime lead. Bucks was not done as Shawn Lawson scored twice and Ricky Domico finished the scoring with an unassisted goal.
“Our guys were anxious to play today to prove themselves after the opening game defeat against soccer powerhouse, Mercer. It was very warm today and we continued to push forward,” said Head Coach Justin Burroughs, “we showed improvement over last week’s game but must continue to improve.”
Reynaldo Bonilla and Shawn Lawson both had two goals apiece for Bucks and Ricky Domico added another for the Centurions, who improve their record to 1-1. Domico also contributed two assists and Bonilla had one. Trevor Hopf recorded his first shutout of the season in goal.
Bucks returns to action on Thursday when they host Montgomery County Community College at 3:30PM in their first conference game of the season.
