Decathlon Camp: Track, Field & Fitness

Stop Motion is a powerful animation technique that makes static objects appear to be moving. In this camp, you will use Lego bricks and found objects. Wanna Be A Star - 2 week camp

Designed for the younger camper interested in Musical Theater, this is an active participation program with experienced professionals. The camp will focus on the fun-damentals in acting, singing and dancing. You will learn how to put a show together from start to finish ending with everyone getting their shining moment. Mountain Biking / Disc Golf

Mountain Biking - Enjoy Tyler Park all day, then enjoy an end of the week road trip to the technical trails at Core Creek Park. In this combo class you will learn all about mountain biking: trail riding, bike maintenance and bike safety as well as the exciting sport of disc golf. Also included are proper rider positioning, controlled braking and slow speed technical maneuvering, pedaling cadence/gear use, and proper technique for climbing and descending. You must provide your own multi-geared mountain bike. All bikes should be tuned and given a safety inspection ahead of time. For questions call Endurance Sports (215-369-0225).

Disc Golf - Disc Golf is a sport similar to golf except the equipment is a disc (Frisbee) that is thrown into metal baskets strategically placed throughout the course. This exciting camp is an introduction to this fun sport. Instruction will cover conduct and order of play, use of discs and rules of play. You will become familiar with the course in Tyler Park and most of all have lots of fun!

Basketball

This exciting clinic is designed to teach boys and girls the essential fundamentals of basketball. A Stitch in Time

Are you crafty, artistic and good with color and texture? Learning to sew can help you expand your fashion creativity. In this hands-on camp, you will learn the basics of textiles, fabric, color and how to sew! We will learn hand-sewing techniques, like buttons and hemming, as well as how to do simple machine sewing. At the end of the day we will take a dip in the pool to cool down and relax. This camp has a little bit of everything. Come along with us as we explore the Neshaminy Creek and all of its inhabitants - from microorganisms to mammalians. Watch the predator-prey relationship firsthand! Experience unknown areas of the creek and learn about the secret wildlife that lives there. Develop outdoor skills while observing animals and their habitats. Discover stream insects and the fish that feed on them; catch and release fish. Practice animal observation, identification, and study animal tendencies.

Baseball - Pitching & Hitting Clinic

Boys and girls, here is your chance to hone in on the essentials of baseball - pitching and hitting! Emphasis will be placed on learning the proper techniques of these two important components of the game but there will also be time for skill development in catching, throwing, fielding, base running, base stealing and bunting.
Each day will be broken into four mini-sessions. The first three sessions will focus on skill development and the fourth session will be for advanced play, swimming or whiffle ball. Fabulous Fishing

Learn how to safely fish and enjoy the art of fishing each day. All equipment and bait will be supplied. (You may bring your own rod.) Do you grind? Can you ollie? Join us for our skateboard camp and learn all the basics steps needed to become a better skateboarder. We will start at the beginning, covering board stance, turns and pedaling. As your confidence grows we will give you instruction for basic board tricks. As the week progresses and your skills get stronger, you will be able to put them to the test at the Middletown Skateboard Park. Requirements: Skateboard, helmet, elbow, knee and wrist pads, and a signed waiver. There are no exceptions to the required items. Those who do not have the required items can not participate.

You will learn basic ecological principals through laboratories such as solar leaf prints, dissecting owl pellets, aging tree rings, children’s literature, and daily outdoor excursions to Tyler State Park. Gain an appreciation for the local ecosystem and how best to protect it. Be prepared to get dirty as you hike the trails, explore the Neshaminy Creek for critters to observe and identify, investigate a wetland and observe wildlife at its best. Make a craft and play a game that centers around the day’s lesson. Be sure to bring some insect repellent. Don’t forget your bathing suit and a towel for a cool down activity in the pool.

Kaboom! (NEW) Camp Filled

Playwriting

Write, direct and start in your own play! In this camp you will learn how to write a script, illustrate storyboards, create realistic dialogue and work with peers to produce a performance. Activities will include acting games, dialogue exercises, and collaborative set design using materials at hand. We will look at existing scripts to determine how to create within the playwriting genre, and will use these models to produce unique, dynamic creations of your own.

Beginner’s Lacrosse for Boys & Girls

Learn the hottest sport around! The instruction is for boys and girls looking to better their skills. The focus will be placed on drills, skills and rules applicable to both the girls’ and boys’ game, which are very important toward the development of a complete lacrosse player. Boys and girls will also be split into separate groups so that individual regulations can be covered. Conditioning and running essential to the game are incorporated into all skills. STOMP on It!

Calling all students who love music and movement! “STOMP ON IT” will teach you a combination of rhythm, movement, sound and more to create an exhilarating experience for both the performer and the audience. You will work in small groups to combine found sounds with imaginative rhythms and movement to create a memorable mini performance. Inline Skating

Half Day Camp - 9 am-noon only!
(may be paired with Ultimate Frisbee)
Designed with safety in mind, this beginner’s In-Line Skating clinic will give you an opportunity to learn the proper techniques of In-Line Skating. Basic safety information will begin with equipment fit, maintenance, and proper use. The basic skills taught will be forward movement, braking and turning. The clinic is structured so that those who quickly master the basics can move on to more advanced skills. You will proceed at your own comfort level. Requirements: Each participant will be required to have a skate with a rear brake, a helmet, and protective gear (elbow, wrist and knee pads). There are absolutely no exceptions to these requirements. Toy skates not allowed. If you do not have the necessary equipment, the clinic instructor for an extra charge will provide it for you.

Exploring Engineering / Brilliant Bridge Builders

Exploring Engineering - Learn how engineers use science and imagination to solve everyday problems and improve people’s lives. Explore civil, mechanical, electrical, chemical and environmental engineering fields. You will have the opportunity to invent, design and build many creations as well as build skills in problem-solving, teamwork and leadership. Sample activities include roller coasters, bridges, towers, circuits, pollution cleanup and more! Activities will address several of the requirements for the Boy Scout Engineering badge.

Brilliant Bridge Builders
- This exciting camp is great for those campers who enjoy problem solving, engineering, designing, team activities, and a little friendly competition. You will work in teams to design the strongest bridge…using toothpicks and glue. Teams will use the Internet to find bridge designs, strategies, and tips for constructing the effective bridge. After construction, teams will compete to see which bridge can hold the most weight.

You will create super cool PowerPoint presentations and explore the Internet as an educational and fun tool. All Internet surfing will be kid-safe and appropriate.

Treasure Island - Life as a Pirate

This is a fun-filled camp where you will explore the lives and legends of pirates through storybooks. Create your own pirate nickname and life story. Create your own treasure maps and treasure; then go on grand treasure hunts! Build a ship to sail upon the seas and live life as a pirate through the reading of stories, creative drama, creative writing and art projects including the making of telescopes, parrot puppets, pirate costumes and pirate flags.
