| Procedure for Reinstatement
I. The student must first obtain a new I-20 (Certificate of Admission) from the school he/she is attending.
If a student must be readmitted because there was a break in his/her full time attendance, the student
will need to request the I-20 from the Adult and Multicultural Student Services Office (215-968-8107).
The student will need to provide new financial documentation.
If the student does not need readmission, the Designated School Official can prepare the new I-20.
II. Documents to be Completed and Sent to Immigration
- I-539 (Petition for change of Nonimmigrant Status marked Reinstatement of Student Status).
- Statement to explain why the student was not attending college full-time and /or why the
student did not attend the school that issued the original I-20. if documentation is available
to support the studentÕs statement, copies should be attached.
- I-134 (For new financial documentation)is required if sponsor is a citizen or permanent resident
of the United States.
- New I-20 issued for reinstatement of Student Status (student must sign line 11).
- Copy of the I-94.
- Check or money order, payable to Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The fee amount must be checked at the time of the reinstatement request.
- Check or money order to pay for postage.
This application is made by mail only and normally requires six to eight weeks for a decision
