Event Information
Join us for the updated performance and 20th anniversary of the Obie Award-winning The Vagina Monologues and founding of V-Day, the global activist movement to end violence against all women and girls (cisgender, transgender, and those who hold fluid identities that are subject to gender-based violence). This 2019 version of Eve Ensler’s iconic play is a whirlwind tour of a forbidden zone which introduces a wildly divergent gathering of female voices, including a six-year-old girl, a septuagenarian New Yorker, a woman who witnesses the birth of her granddaughter, a Bosnian survivor of rape, and transgender women. Dramatically funny, tender, provocative and ultimately political, it is a series of interviews with a diverse group of over 200 women about their vaginas, offering new perspectives on the comp.
Stay for a post-performance discussion with the cast and a representative of A Woman's Place.
