Bruce Katsiff: River Town Portraits, 1973-1983
Monday, January 22, 2018
Where and When
Time: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Location: Hicks Art Center
In 1973, fresh from graduate school and the new chair of the art department at Bucks County Community College, Bruce Katsiff set out with his large-format camera to get to know his neighbors in Lumberville and Point Pleasant, PA. These carefully composed photographs reveal the intimate character of village life and remain powerful today for their balance of emotion and technical precision. Bruce Katsiff: River Town Portraits 1973-1983 is timed to coincide with a new monograph with essays by curator Liz K. Sheehan; Jeffrey Marshall, Director of the Heritage Conservancy; and an appreciation by Jo Katsiff.
