British Pop Artist Charli XCX in Concert
Friday, November 15, 2013
Where and When
Time: 7:30pm - 10:00pm
Location: Gateway Auditorium
British singer songwriter Charli XCX has been performing excellent, forward-facing pop in venues throughout the United States and Europe. Now she is coming to Bucks County Community College.
Tickets are $10 general admission. Purchase tickets at http://www.bucks.edu/tickets or at the college’s Newtown campus bookstore.
Charli wrote Icona Pop's breakthrough hit "I Love It", rocketing the Swedish duo to the top 10 in numerous countries. In March 2013, Charli XCX was named one of Fuse TV's 30 must-see artists at South by Southwest (SXSW). Her album True Romance, released in April, debuted at #5 on Billboard’s Top Heatseekers in the US.
Charli's live performances, like her music, are raw but multi-layered, sometimes stark but with a clear beating human heart. She is a lightning rod, pulling influences out of the sky and channeling them into the crunchy beats, fuzzy synths, bittersweet melodies and idiosyncratic perspectives that combine in the absorbing multi-media output of this compelling new artist.

The East Coast Reggae Punk band, The Mahlors, will open for Charli XCX in what is sure to be the music event of the season.
