Accessing Your Course

Canvas (by Instructure)

Your course is using Canvas. If you are new to Canvas, please visit the Canvas Basics course space to become familiar with Canvas prior to the start of your course. No login is required to access this space.

You will be able to login to Canvas about two weeks prior to the start of your class. However, your course becomes available as of 1 AM on the official course start date.

Logging In

Log in to your Canvas course space at

  • Username: Your username is the same for every system at Bucks.
  • Password: your Bucks Network password (used to log into any Bucks campus computer or to access any Bucks Library online database from off campus.)

If you do not know your Bucks Username, you can retrieve it by using the Find Your Username Form. Enter your Name, Birthday (mm/dd/yyyy) and either your 7 digit student ID number OR your social security number, then click Submit. Your Bucks username will display on the screen.

Note: Students are uploaded to Canvas several times a day. If you registered late, you won't be able to access Canvas until the next upload takes place.

Other Information about the Course

Welcome to BIOL 182 HU1! I look forward to working with you online and weekly, Tuesdays from 9:00-10:55 on the Upper Bucks campus. Please note that this course starts (1/22) when the Bucks Spring semester starts. You must COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING 2 ASSIGNMENTS *** BEFORE ***we meet face-to-face the first time on Tuesday, January 28th. (1) Course Orientation and Orientation Quiz (to find this orientation and quiz, go to our course space in CANVAS. The link for the orientation and the quiz are in the first module). (2) McGraw Hill Connect Homework #1: The Brain (To complete this you will need to log on to the textbook Connect Plus course space).

Please note that while weekly homework and quizzes will be completed at home online and some exams will be given during class, 2 proctored exams (including 1 cumulative final) must be taken at a campus testing center.

The following class texts / materials are required:

• Anatomy & Physiology: The Unity of Form and Function by Saladin (6th ed.), and a Connect Plus access code. The BCCC Bookstore provides two textbook options, each with Connect Plus, one unbound and one bound/hardback.

• Laboratory Manual for Anatomy and Physiology by Wood. The text should say for BIOL 182. This is a custom edition for Bucks County Community College and can be purchased at the college bookstore. You will also need online access to Pearson’s Codes for this come with your lab book, so please make sure to keep any cards that come with your lab book.

• Dissecting kit (Kits are available in the bookstore. Groups of 2-3 students may share a dissection kit).
