Getting Started With This Course

Orientation(s)

Orientation for this course is REQUIRED.
Failure to participate in a REQUIRED orientation, as specified below, may jeopardize your grade.

Online

Your instructor will hold the orientation online using self-paced tools, email and/or discussions. (A self-paced orientation does NOT mean the entire course is self-paced.) You should plan to access your online course no later than the first day of the session. Failure to do so may jeopardize your grade.

Other Orientation Information
You will be sent information via your Bucks e-mail about a few days before the start of class on how to begin your course. Reading this information is mandatory in order to start the program. Please be prepared to purchase an Aleks code from the bookstore or from online at Aleks.com with a valid credit card. Your cost for access to the program Aleks will be about $30-$35.

You will not be able to purchase the code online without the Course Code which I will provide you via your Bucks email. The course you are placed in is determined by your math placement score. If you have not taken the math placement test, you must do so before your Fast Track course starts.

If you need to speak to me before orientation, please feel free to contact me at...

Approximately 3 weeks prior to the start of the session you can use the link below to see the list of books that have been selected by your instructor. If you have any questions about the course materials listed, please contact your instructor or the academic department directly.

Click this link to see the book list for your course.

Other Information about the Course

The Fast Track mathematics program is designed for those students who feel the placement test results do not reflect their true mathematical ability and knowledge, and for those students who would like to refresh and strengthen their mathematical skills. Participation in this program could potentially allow you to complete your course of studies in mathematics in less time. If you are one of these students you are invited to take part in this program this semester.

You will have about six weeks to complete as much of the program as you can. Your placement will depend on a final assessment given in the program Aleks. You will have to come to campus to take this final assessment in a proctored environment. You will also be asked to sign a contract stating that you read and understand the requirements of the course.

Initial placement (or starting point) will be determined by your Bucks placement score.

If you need to contact me before the start of the class, email is best.

I look forward to working with you this semester.
