Accessing Your Course

Canvas (by Instructure)

Your course is using Canvas. If you are new to Canvas, please visit the Canvas Basics course space to become familiar with Canvas prior to the start of your course. No login is required to access this space.

You will be able to login to Canvas about two weeks prior to the start of your class. However, your course becomes available as of 1 AM on the official course start date.

Logging In

Log in to your Canvas course space at

  • Username: Your username is the same for every system at Bucks.
  • Password: your Bucks Network password (used to log into any Bucks campus computer or to access any Bucks Library online database from off campus.)

If you do not know your Bucks Username, you can retrieve it by using the Find Your Username Form. Enter your Name, Birthday (mm/dd/yyyy) and either your 7 digit student ID number OR your social security number, then click Submit. Your Bucks username will display on the screen.

Note: Students are uploaded to Canvas several times a day. If you registered late, you won't be able to access Canvas until the next upload takes place.

Other Information about the Course

This course is more than memorizing factual information to successfully pass an online test. It is an invitation to participate with your classmates and instructor in an online supportive learning community that focuses on stress management.

You will be expected to:
  • Read your textbook
  • Complete WEEKLY assignments and submit them in a timely fashion, when required
  • Post thoughtful and frequent comments during online discussions
  • Conduct a special project and submit a reflection paper of your experience
  • Practice weekly stress reducing techniques at home under the direction of your instructor and report your progress online
  • Complete a graph in connection with your weekly stress reducing techniques and write a summary of your findings
  • Complete five (5) summary/opinions based on articles related to stress
  • Design a customized personal plan for decreasing stressful behaviors
  • Complete four (4) tests throughout the semester

The course will cover the following topics: Defining Stress, Stress Psychophysiology, Stress and Illness, Meditation, Autogenic Training, Imagery, Progressive Relaxation and other techniques, Life Interventions such as Intrapersonal, Interpersonal and Perception, Stress and Spirituality, Stress and the College Student and Strategies for Decreasing Stressful Behaviors.

Interactive web resources, video clips and audio recordings will be used to enhance the online experience.
