Purchasing Your Books and Other Course Materials
While you may purchase your books and other course materials from the provider of your choice (using the
ISBN number available through the course's academic department
where applicable to ensure the correct version), both the campus bookstore
and our online bookstore,
guarantee that they stock the correct version for your course.
Approximately 3 weeks prior to the start of the session you can use the link
below to see the list of books that have been selected by your instructor. If you have
any questions about the course materials listed, please contact your instructor or the academic

Other Information about the Course
Students must have access to a digital video camera for this class. Use of a webcam for this class is not allowed.
Once speeches are videotaped, students will upload speeches onto the publisher support site called "Connect Lucas."
Students must have access to a professional presentation space to deliver and videotape their presentation. Unless there is a disability accommodation made, speeches are not allowed to be delivered from home!
For each speech, students must arrange an audience of at least six (6) adults. The audience must be introduced prior to the speech and visible throughout the presentation. The audience must complete an evaluation sheet for the speech presentation.
Late assignments (Speeches, online assignments, discussion postings, etc.) are not accepted unless appropriate documentation is provided to substantiate the claim.
This semester, the class work for the course will be computer intensive and will require students to have access to the Internet. Using our Canvas "Virtual Classroom," you will be required to complete assignments, address weekly topics on the electronic discussion board and possibly participate in chats. Contact online learning for more information @ 215-968-8052.
Since these courses usually fill up, there will be no extra time for extra or make-up speeches. If you know that you have a conflict with any deadline, you should sign up for a different section.

I hope that we can work together for a successful semester. I will be available by email, telephone, and in-person meetings to facilitate your work process, but the major responsibility for completing work is yours.
