Access to this course will begin as of 1 AM on the first day of class. Thank you for your interest in Nutrition - HLTH120. I hope that you will benefit immensely from the many experiences you will have to explore the science of nutrition. Please note that this course is an eLearning course through Canvas. ALL aspects of the courses (assignments, examinations, and postings) are completed online through the Canvas coursespace. At least 1 week prior to the start of classes, a WELCOME EMAIL will be sent to all registered students BCCC email account providing additional information regarding the course and the course format.
This course will explore the nutrients in food and the body's handling of those nutrients, also with the role nutrition plays in health.
Orientation:
There will be a mandatory online orientation session for all students to complete once classes start. Students will have access to the course space and online orientation on the first day of classes. To complete the online orientation, the student must enter the course space and click on the "Online Orientation - Start Here" icon. Students must successfully complete the online orientation (e.g., score a 100% (9) on the quiz) to gain full access into the HLTH120 - Nutrition course space. Students can retake the quiz multiple times.
This course uses a course management system called Canvas. It is recommended that students review the Canvas Basics course. Additionally, students are encouraged to contact the Technology Learning Center for assistance in understanding Canvas and eLearning course, additionally it will aid in the technological aspects of the course.
All of the recommended components contain information you will need in order to decide if your computer meets the minimal requirements for accessing the course.
