For optimal performance while using Canvas, use a recent version of Mozilla Firefox, Safari, or Google Chrome Internet Explorer is NOT recommended.

Canvas Orientation Tutorial

No login is required to view the Canvas Basics course space, where you can become familiar with Canvas prior to the start of your course.

Is your course using Canvas?  Not all courses use it.

  • Credit Courses:
    • eLearning or Hybrid Course Information Pages specify which online system is being used.
    • For face-to-face classes, please check with your instructor.
  • Non-credit (Continuing Education, Public Safety Training Center) Courses:
    • For Online courses, a letter specifying the system being used is sent via U.S. Mail.
    • For face-to-face classes, please check with your instructor.

If your course IS using Canvas

  • Credit Course Students:
    • Access to Canvas occurs approximately two weeks prior to your online course start date, or within one business day of registration if you register less than two weeks before the start date.
    • Login and set up your profile and notifications
    • Review the Canvas Basics course space.
    • Access to your course begins at 1:00 A.M. on the first day of the semester/session.
  • Non-Credit Course Students
    • Access to Canvas occurs approximately one week prior to your online course start date, or within one business day of registration if you register less than two weeks before the start date.
    • Login and set up your profile and notifications
    • Review the Canvas Basics course space.
    • Access to your course begins at 1:00 A.M. on your course start date.

Username*

  • Your username is the same for every system at Bucks, and consists of your last name and first initial, and may be followed by a random number. For example, John Smith's user account could be smithj4567 or smithj.
  • Your username will always be all lower case characters.
  • You cannot change your username yourself.
  • *If you do not know your username, follow the How to Find Your Username instructions at the bottom of this page.

Password 

    • Not all systems use the same password.
    • Canvas uses your Bucks Network password.
      • Bucks Network passwords are used to log into any Bucks campus computer, the MyBucks portal, or to access any Bucks Library online database from off campus.
      • If you have never done any of those, you will need to set up your Bucks Network profile in Password Manager prior to logging into Canvas.
    • If you have previously activated your Bucks Network password, then simply use it to login to Canvas.
    • A good way to check if you have a password problem is to login to MyBucks.  If you can't login there you need to go to Password Manager to recover your password.

Bucks Network Passwords Expire

  • Bucks Network passwords need to be changed every 180 days.  If you have previously had success using your Network password and find it suddenly stops working, then chances are you need to change your password
  • If you have forgotten your Bucks Network password, please call the TLC at 215-497-8754 or email tlc@bucks.edu, or call Virtual Campus at 215-968-8052 or email virtual@bucks.edu.

Still having Trouble?

  • Here is a possible reason why.  Non-credit (Continuing Education, Public Safety Training Center) students may not have all the required information in their student record needed to set up their Bucks Network profile and password. If you receive an error message call 215-968-8191, option 1 for assistance. 
  • After three unsuccessful login attempts, your account is locked.  Call 215-968-8191, option 1 for assistance.

Login Help

If you have activated your Network password (see above info.) and have tried everything else and are still having trouble using it to log into Canvas call the TLC at 215-497-8754 or email tlc@bucks.edu, or call Virtual Campus at 215-968-8052 or email virtual@bucks.edu.

*How to find your username

  1. Go to http://pebbles.bucks.edu
  2. Select Account Information (top right corner of the screen)
  3. Select What's my user id?
  4. Follow the prompts - (you will need to provide your last name AND your 7 digit student ID number which can be found on your registration confirmation page OR your social security #).
  5. If successful, your user ID name will display on the screen.
  6. If unsuccessful, you'll see a message similar to With the information you provided we could not uniquely identify you.  Please call 215-968-8191, option 1 for assistance.
