Introduction - What is Office 365?

The upgrade to Office 365 is an important step forward and the next of our technology initiatives to be launching.  With its enhanced collaborative capabilities, its Office anywhere functionality and the ability for students, staff and faculty to download Office 365 on up to five different personal devices, Office 365 is a significant enhancement to our Office capabilities.  This upgrade will occur during Spring Break week and will only require Faculty and Staff to restart their Outlook clients once the migration of their individual mailbox is complete.  The Office 365 migration is a giant leap forward in our cloud computing environment and in our ability to create, share and collaborate on documents, presentations, images and videos.

This is an exciting time for the College and the advancement of our technology initiatives.  The Office 365 initiative is just one of a series of exciting new and upgraded service enhancements ITS will be delivering between now and the start of the fall term.  Please contact me if you have any questions about the innovation and technology ITS is implementing.

Preparation - What do I need to do?

Some Bucks employees are still using Office‌ 2010.  If you fall into this category, you will need to upgrade to Office 2013.

A guide is available here that will help you determine if you need to upgrade and how to do so.

Shared calendars will be unavailable for a period of time during and after the migration.  You may want to print a hard copy of your departmental calendar to refer to while it is offline.  Instructions on how to print shared calendars can be found here.

All of your Exchange email will be migrated to Office 365.  If you wish to make a backup of your inbox and sent items or PST files before the migration occurs, backup instructions can be found here (Exchange email) or here (personal folders).

Differences - What are the changes and benefits?


Mobile Devices - Can I add my Office 365 email to my smart phone?

Absolutely.  We have tutorials available for iPhone and Android devices.

Training - How else can I learn more?
