The Fire Science Associate Degree Program prepares the student for
a leadership position in the Fire Service. In addition to the courses
that prepare the student to manage a complex emergency scene, the
Fire Science courses in this curriculum provide the student with
technical information on a wide range of topics. Courses such as
Pre-emergency Planning and Computer Assisted Design, Fire Investigation, the
International
Building and Fire Code and Fire Prevention and Fire Safety
Education prepare the student for careers that are directly and indirectly related
to the Fire Service. These careers include working in fire
investigation, code inspection, insurance investigation, fire equipment inspection,
risk analysis and pre-emergency planning. In addition this program
provides individuals already working in the Fire Service, or in a related field,
the opportunity to prepare for promotion while at the same time earning
an Associate Degree.
