Wordsmiths Reading Series event features nine muses, each of whom have recently published poetry books, at 7 p.m. May 15 in historic Tyler Hall, Newtown
Bucks County Community College invites the public to the annual Pamela and Herb Perkins-Frederick book fair and poetry reading at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, in historic Tyler Hall on the Newtown Campus.
The Wordsmiths Reading Series event features nine local poets – or nine muses – each of whom who have recently published books, which will be available for purchase and signing.
The nine muses are Jo Freehand, Luray Gross, Bernadette McBride, Jane Edna Mohler, Diana Loercher Pazicky, Elizabeth Rivers, Wendy Fulton Steginsky, Kristina Tregnan, and Constance Wrzesniewski.
The event is a memorial tribute to a couple who were as devoted to poetry as to each other. Herb Perkins-Frederick was a software engineer, poet, author, and a frequent poetry reader at venues throughout Bucks County. Pamela Perkins-Frederick was the 1984 Bucks County Poet Laureate and author of several poetry collections.
The event takes place in room 142 of Tyler Hall, located on campus at 275 Swamp Rd., Newtown, Pa. Admission and parking are free.
The Wordsmiths Reading Series, brought to you by the college’s Cultural Programming Committee and Language and Literature Department, is another way that Bucks County Community College contributes to the region’s cultural heritage.
