Drama Club Presents ‘Laugh Out Loud’ Friday and Saturday
Bucks students take the stage for three performances of the comedy about internet dating Dec. 7-8 at Newtown
The Bucks County Community College Drama Club invites the public to “Laugh Out Loud (cry quietly),” a comedy about internet dating, for three performances Friday, December 7 and Saturday, December 8 at the Newtown Campus.
Written by Stacie Lents, “Laugh Out Loud…” follows a group of twenty-somethings in New York City who turn to the internet to find love through a series of wacky and awkward dates. Each character learns what they really need and want, in addition to what they can – and can't – tolerate in a mate. The audience is in for a playful, feel-good evening of theater that offers a touching and relatable look at the lengths we go to for love.
“Laugh Out Loud…” is produced entirely by members of the Bucks County Community College Drama Club, one of more than 50 student-run clubs and organizations at the public, two-year college. It’s directed by club president Nathan Brady of Bristol Township, and features a baker’s dozen cast of club members in the cast: Cherry Kivumbi of Falls, Lia Messer of Middletown, Alaina O’Neil of Langhorne, Gabriella Morgan of Lower Makefield, Valerie Holmes of Bensalem, Cali Wagner of Philadelphia, Jessica Yim of Dublin, Chrissy Griffith of Falls, Forrester Connor of Lower Makefield, Rocco Angelastro of Bristol Township, Savan Patel of Warminster, and Wade Polster of Lower Makefield.
The curtain rises on “Laugh Out Loud…” at 7 p.m. Friday, December 7, and at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, December 8, in the Kevin and Sima Zlock Performing Arts Center. General admission tickets are only $10, and can be purchased online at www.bucks.edu/tickets or at the door.
The Zlock Performing Arts Center is located in the Gateway Center Building at Bucks County Community College, 275 Swamp Rd., Newtown, Pa., where there is ample free parking. The theater is equipped with audio-loop technology for the hearing impaired. For more information, call 215-968-8087.
