Other Information about the Course |
Check Canvas, for viewing access only, as early as 05/14/18.
Students need frequent and easy access to a computer. The on-line version of this course will include lecture slide review, various videos, practice exam and exam reviews, lab work in CONNECT, and quizzes and activities in CONNECT. CONNECT is the text book based web site. All of the exams are proctored and will be taken in a Testing Center located on any one of the Buck's campuses. For students who do not live near campus other arrangements are possible, but they must be approved by me and made in advance, and are the responsibility of the student. You will need to go to a college or university near you and make arrangements with their Testing Center. (I will only approve College or University Testing Centers in the USA as alternate testing sites, NO exceptions.) Follow All of the instructions found at the Bucks County Community College Testing Center web page. A Once verified, I will send them the information they will need to administer the exams.
This must all be done well in advance. You will not be given any extensions for the exams. You will also be bound by the same closing times as those taking the exams here at the Bucks Testing Center, as well as the regulations and closing times of the host Testing Center.
Remember, the online orientation session is very important.
Required text book: Anatomy & Physiology: The unity of form and function. 7th Edition, by Saladin, with Connect and Learn Smart Labs access code, published by McGraw Hill. You MUST use the correct edition of the text book, and have the access code for Connect AND Learn Smart Labs. I strongly recommend that you purchase this at the campus Book Store (we have negotiated an excellent price). They include the required access code for CONNECT Learn Smart Labs. If you purchase the text book from another source it is the student’s responsibility to make sure that they also have the correct CONNECT and Learn Smart Lab access code. This is an integral part of the course and is required. You will need to access them from the very beginning of the course.
