Other Information about the Course

There are five essays (written assignments) based upon reading assignments in the textbook, James L. Stokesbury, A Short History of World War II. In addition, there is a book report due at the end of the semester. A book list for this purpose is included in the course syllabus which appears on Canvas and which may be obtained at www.bucks.edu/welcome or directly from me (suttonm@bucks.edu)some weeks before the start of the semester. The final grade is determined by the grades received for papers, online discussion posts, and the book report. Film and website suggestions are made, but viewing film is not a course requirement. More detailed information about the course may be found in the course syllabus available from the instructor (suttonm@bucks.edu) or in the course space on Canvas once the course is published on the first day of the session. While tentative at this early date, the book for the course will be: James L. Stokesbury, A Short History of World War II. It will be available in the college bookstore. The book is the heart of the course, and the expectation is that all students will read and study it in its entirety. Supplementing your reading are the Canvas "Announcements," about fifty in number, which serve to "fill in the blanks" left by Stokesbury. All student work will be read and reviewed by me with "Comments" included along with the grades for the these weekly assignments.
