Canvas (by Instructure)
Your course is using Canvas. If you are new to Canvas, please visit the
Canvas Basics course space
to become familiar with Canvas prior to the start of your course. No login is required to
access this space.
You will be able to login to Canvas about two weeks prior to the start of your class.
However, your course becomes available as of 1 AM on the official course
start date.
Logging In
Log in to your Canvas course space at
bucks.instructure.com
- Username: Your username is the same for every system at Bucks.
- Password: your Bucks Network password (used to log into any Bucks campus computer or to access any Bucks Library online database from off campus.)
If you do not know your Bucks Username, you can retrieve it by using the Find Your Username Form. Enter your Name, Birthday (mm/dd/yyyy) and either your 7 digit student ID number OR your social security number, then click Submit. Your Bucks username will display on the screen.
Note: Students are uploaded to Canvas several times a day. If you registered late, you won't be
able to access Canvas until the next upload takes place.

ISBN number available through the course's academic department
where applicable to ensure the correct version), both the campus bookstore
and our online bookstore,
guarantee that they stock the correct version for your course.

This is an intense, accelerated course in which highly disciplined students will research, write, outline, and deliver three speeches in just a few weeks, plus other assignments. THIS IS NOT A COURSE FOR STUDENTS WITH HIGH LEVELS OF SPEECH ANXIETY. Student must have access to computer, Internet, and Canvas.
MANDATORY: Students will deliver speeches IN PERSON in room 100 of the Lower Bucks Campus, Bristol, at 12:30 p.m. on the Sat. dates listed above. Instructor will record these speeches and upload the video to a website for the student to evaluate his/her presentations.
FAILURE TO COMPLETE ANY OF THE THREE REQUIRED SPEECHES WILL RESULT IN FAILURE OF THE COURSE.
DO NOT REGISTER IF YOU CANNOT MAKE THE MANDATORY CLASS DATES.
You must be a highly motivated student who can work independently. This is not a section to take if you have speech anxiety or are not fluent in the English language as the instructor will not have time to work with you on these issues. Late assignments and speeches are not accepted. There will be no make-up speeches. If you have a conflict with any of these deadlines or requirements, please register for a different section.
Class work will be computer intensive. Using our Canvas "Virtual Classroom," you will be required to complete assignments, post to a discussion board and respond to other postings. If you are unfamiliar with Canvas, please sign up for an orientation class. Contact Virtual Campus/Online Learning for more information.
Prerequisite: Writing Placement Test score of 6 or better or COMP107 (C or better).
