Student Requirements

This course has the following requirements for students:
  • Read the important instructor supplied information located at the end of this document
  • Proctored Testing is Required

Proctored Testing is Required

Your instructor requires proctored testing. Proctored testing services are available free of charge on a walk-in basis at the Newtown Campus, the Lower Bucks Campus (Bristol), and the Upper Bucks Campus (Perkasie). The specific days and hours for testing services at the Newtown and branch campuses vary by semester.

Your instructor may offer the option of allowing you to propose an alternative proctor if Bucks County Community College testing facilities are otherwise inaccessible to you. However, all proctored testing must occur within the United States during the assigned testing period. Failure to comply will result in your receiving an F for the course.

Other Information about the Course

BASIC COURSE INFORMATION:

This section requires students to have basic computing skills such as downloading and installing software to set up a computer properly to access myitlab.com, turning off the pop-up blocker of a web browser, and contacting tech support to troubleshoot your computer when needed. If you don’t have these basic computing skills, please don’t take the online section.

Many students encountered problems when using a Mac computer to work with Myitlab. Therefore, a Windows computer and Microsoft Office for Windows are strongly preferred unless you have excellent knowledge and skills with Mac computers and operating systems.

All registered students will be contacted via Bucks email account approximately 1 week to 10 days prior to the course start date. Please look for this message as it contains the course syllabus and outlines important course information, materials, requirements, and expectations.

The course orientation is online with self-paced tools. It is your responsibility to login to Canvas the first day of class to complete the Orientation Module. *IMPORTANT* Students are expected to complete the online orientation by the end of the first week. Students will risk being withdrawn if they fail to do so.

The Canvas course is paired with a Myitlab course space in Mylab/Mastering therefore, you MUST register in Myitlab using the instructions as shown in the Orientation Module. You will not be able to register in Myitlab early for this reason. Because this course is a paired course (Canvas/Myitlab)an instructor provided course code is not disclosed as you will register to Myitlab via Canvas. This process is explained in the Orientation Module.

Make sure you understand the difference between an "access code" and a "course code". The Access Code is purchased by you, the student, to access Myitlab (See "Textbook Information" in the Other Information about the Course area below). The Instructor Course Code is not shared as this course is set up as a paired course.
