Other Information about the Course |
Check Canvas, for viewing access only, as early as 05/14/18.
The only purchase required is the the text book: Inquiry into Life, 15th ed., Mader. Since this paperback text has been designed exclusively for this course, students are advised to purchase the text from the college bookstore. Each text contains an access code for CONNECT. This code is generally not available in used copies. If a used text purchase is your choice, an access code may be purchased with a credit card. A additional option is to purchase the e-pack, using a credit card, once the student has registered into CONNECT. If purchasing a new or used copy through Amazon (or some other source) is your choice, be certain to allow enough time for the text to be delivered by the first day of class. ALL study guides, and exams are in Connect. Therefore, access to Connect is a COURSE REQUIREMENT. Since all the lab experiences are virtual (on-line), a lab manual is not required or necessary. ALL EXAMS ARE ON-LINE.The exams will be proctored by BCCC Testing Center. If the Testing Center is not convenient, other proctoring arrangements can be made. The exams, including the final, are available over a three day period of time. This course follows a detailed schedule to assure that all work is completed on time and that the student is prepared to take each of the scheduled exams.
An email will be sent to all enrolled students informing them that the course will be open and available in CANVAS and CONNECT 5/14/18. CANVAS AND CONNECT are the two learning platforms for the course. The EMAIL will contain instructions as how to get started in Canvas and how to register into Connect. ALL STUDENTS MUST REGISTER INTO CONNECT. When you open CANVAS go to START HERE. There you will find the course policies, syllabus, and an overview of course topics. Once you have reviewed the latter, open the Module for chapter one to begin the course. The early opening of the course is to familiarize the student with the overall structure of the course and provide instructions how to register into CONNECT. Assignments are not permitted to be submitted until 5/22/18. I look forward to working with you this semester. |
