Student Requirements

This course has the following requirements for students:
  • Read the important instructor supplied information located at the end of this document
  • Other special requirements may apply. Consult "Other Information about the Section" for details.
  • Proctored Testing is Required

Proctored Testing is Required

Your instructor requires proctored testing. Proctored testing services are available free of charge on a walk-in basis at the Newtown Campus, the Lower Bucks Campus (Bristol), and the Upper Bucks Campus (Perkasie). The specific days and hours for testing services at the Newtown and branch campuses vary by semester.

Your instructor may offer the option of allowing you to propose an alternative proctor if Bucks County Community College testing facilities are otherwise inaccessible to you. However, all proctored testing must occur within the United States during the assigned testing period. Failure to comply will result in your receiving an F for the course.

Other Information about the Course

All classes, including labs will be online. If you would like to meet f2f, I will be available for appointments as necessary. The first day of the semester (7/2/18) is OUR first day of class! You will have components due the first week of class.

Remember online courses do require a large amount of discipline on your part. Face-to-face biol 115 courses meet for two hours and forty-five minutes per week. Students are then recommended to at least double that time for studying and doing homework outside of class. Therefore to be successful in this online version of the class I recommend at least 9 (8.25 hours bare minimum) of work per week for class. You must be organized and disciplined in your scheduled times of study to succeed in this course! I will always be there to help you succeed in the class. Do not hesitate to email me at anytime for help related to the class.

Quizzes and Homework Assignments will all be online components, excluding/except the Final Exam and Exams. The Final Exam and other Exams will be PROCTORED and taken at one of the three Bucks County Community College campus' testing centers, which means the test proctor will enter a security code (that I will provide only to the test proctor) in order to access the exams. These are the only components that will need to be taken or completed at the testing center. There is the option to apply for Alternative Testing Sites of proctor. (Please refer to this website address to review the alternative site option. http://www.bucks.edu/bucks-online/support/testing/alternativeproctors/. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on "BCCC Alternative Test Proctor Form".) The Final Exam and all other Exams will be available to take over a couple of days.

You are only required to purchase one textbook, Loose Leaf Version of Mader's Understanding Human A&P with Connect Access Card 8th Edition By Susannah Longenbaker. You are REQUIRED to purchase the Connect Plus component at the bare minimum! All Homework Assignments and Assessments (i.e. Exams and Quizzes), will be in Connect only! We have two course spaces, Canvas (BCCC LMS) and Connect (publisher's web course module).
