Dates/Locations of required meetings: Section HU1 meets weekly on Thursdays from 9:00-10:55am in UBCC 151.

Section HU2 meets weekly on Mondays from 11:00am-12:55pm in UBCC 151.

Getting Started With This Course


Orientation for this course is REQUIRED.
Failure to participate in a REQUIRED orientation, as specified below, may jeopardize your grade.


Your instructor will hold the orientation online using self-paced tools, email and/or discussions. (A self-paced orientation does NOT mean the entire course is self-paced.) You should plan to access your online course no later than the first day of the session. Failure to do so may jeopardize your grade.

Other Orientation Information
Orientation is online and self-paced. You must complete the orientation and receive 100% on your Orientation Quiz to gain access to the rest of the course. An additional Lab Orientation will be held the first day of our lab F-2-F meeting. Orientation is mandatory. Orientation meeting details provided in this format. During this orientation meeting I will cover our syllabus, schedule, exam and assignment parameters, and our hybrid lab.

Accessing Your Course

This course will use a website developed by a textbook publisher. Specific details for accessing this website will be provided by your instructor.

Canvas (by Instructure)

Your course is using Canvas. If you are new to Canvas, please visit the Canvas Basics course space to become familiar with Canvas prior to the start of your course. No login is required to access this space.

You will be able to login to Canvas about two weeks prior to the start of your class. However, your course becomes available as of 1 AM on the official course start date.

Logging In

Log in to your Canvas course space at

  • Username: Your username is the same for every system at Bucks.
  • Password: your Bucks Network password (used to log into any Bucks campus computer or to access any Bucks Library online database from off campus.)

If you do not know your Bucks Username, you can retrieve it by using the Find Your Username Form. Enter your Name, Birthday (mm/dd/yyyy) and either your 7 digit student ID number OR your social security number, then click Submit. Your Bucks username will display on the screen.

Note: Students are uploaded to Canvas several times a day. If you registered late, you won't be able to access Canvas until the next upload takes place.

Purchasing Your Books and Other Course Materials

While you may purchase your books and other course materials from the provider of your choice (using the ISBN number available through the course's academic department where applicable to ensure the correct version), both the campus bookstore and our online bookstore, guarantee that they stock the correct version for your course.

Other Information about the Course

The first day of the semester is OUR first day of class!!! You will need to login to the Canvas course space and complete the orientation and Orientation Quiz. You then immediately start the first Learning Module! You will have assessments due BEFORE our first face-to-face class meeting in our Connect Plus course space.

All Discussions, Homework Assignments, Quizzes, Exams, and Final Exam will be performed online (either in Canvas or in Connect Plus); except for labs. Labs and further guidance of the Learning Modules will be on scheduled f2f meeting dates. If you would like to meet f2f for appointments, these can be scheduled as necessary as well.

The Final Exam, Exams, Quizzes, and Homework Assignments will all be online. The Final Exam and all Exams will be administered via a PROCTOR at the TESTING CENTER on one of the THREE BCCC CAMPUSES! There will be a security code needed in order to access these Exams, which solely will be provided to the test proctor at the testing centers. The Exams and the Final Exam will be available to take over a couple of days.

You are required to purchase the textbook, Anatomy & Physiology: The Unity of Form and Function by Saladin (7th ed.), and a Connect Plus access code. The BCCC Bookstore provides two textbook options, one unbound and one bound/hardback, which both come with Connect Plus. You are also required to purchase a lab book by Wood Part 2, which has been modified for BCCC. Lastly you will need to purchase a dissecting kit for lab. The bookstore has the kits to purchase.
