Student Requirements

This course has the following requirements for students:
  • Other special requirements may apply. Consult "Other Information about the Section" for details.
  • Proctored Testing is Required

Proctored Testing is Required

Your instructor requires proctored testing. Proctored testing services are available free of charge on a walk-in basis at the Newtown Campus, the Lower Bucks Campus (Bristol), and the Upper Bucks Campus (Perkasie). The specific days and hours for testing services at the Newtown and branch campuses vary by semester.

Your instructor may offer the option of allowing you to propose an alternative proctor if Bucks County Community College testing facilities are otherwise inaccessible to you. However, all proctored testing must occur within the United States during the assigned testing period. Failure to comply will result in your receiving an F for the course.

View the Testing Center schedule and detailed information.

Orientation can be found in your Canvas course. Once you are familiar with your responsibilities of the course, you will be asked to register in MyLabs. MyLabs is the platform that you will be using for all homework, quizzes and tests, NOT Canvas. Canvas will be your initial entry point and all communications will be conducted via Canvas.

How to register and find all units for the class will be in the Orientation Information.

Please do not purchase any books or codes until you review the Orientation information in your Bucks e-mail. Do not purchase a "used textbook" from any website. You will need the MyLab registration code that comes with the purchase of a "new" textbook. If you do not need a hard copy of the textbook, you can purchase just the MyLabs Registration Access Code. An e-text will be provided for you in MyLabs.

You can purchase the registration code from Bucks' Bookstore or directly from the MyLabs site when you register. Sincerely, Janine Termine;

Dear eLearning Student, It is important that you know ALL tests must be taken at one of Bucks' Testing Centers. If you cannot make it to campus for testing, you will have to make appropriate arrangements for a proctor BEFORE the first day of classes. You may also use the proctoring service Proctor U, but there is an additional cost to use this service.

Once registered and logged into MyLab & Mastering, please begin to familiarize yourself with the website. You can find the sections of study by clicking on “START HERE”. The other buttons are somewhat self- explanatory. I look forward to working with you this semester and answering any of your questions. If your questions can not wait, feel free to contact me via e-mail. I will answer all e-mails Monday through Friday.

Sincerely, Janine Termine;
