Registering for courses starts at Admissions
Before you can get started, you need to make sure you've followed all the preliminary steps in the admissions process, including finishing Placement and attending orientation and academic advisement.
There are four steps to getting started at Bucks:
- ORIENTATION & REGISTRATION
The right preparation makes registration a breeze.
Your academic adviser will get you ready for registration.
Before course registration, students are encouraged to meet with an appropriate academic advisor. Advising serves a number of important purposes. It not only ensures that you've met all the necessary requirements and have been placed at the correct stage of your program, but it also gives you an essential opportunity to plan your degree with a knowledgeable guide.
By planning your degree, you can ensure that all of your core requirements are satisfied and your major coursework is calibrated intelligently to your ultimate goal of Associate's degree, transferring to a four-year institution, or another path. You will work with your advisor to sculpt the Bucks academic experience that suits your needs best.
Once you've completed advisement, you're ready to register! In some cases, you can register with your advisor on the spot. In other cases, you'll want to register online later.
Ready to register? Here's how.
- Create your MyBucks account to access the Student Planning Module.
This is how you'll plan out your course load for the upcoming semester. Once you are in Student Planning, you can view your academic progress and requirements, as well as plan your degree and register for classes. Create your MyBucks account at the Password Manager
- Create a list of your desired courses.
The Course Catalog tab will display all of the available courses for the upcoming semester. Browse by category or search for specific courses, and easily filter your results to find exactly what you want. Add it to your Plan to assemble your course load, and then Add Section to Schedule to compose your semester.
- Finalize your schedule and Register.
Once your academic advisor approves your courses, you can select your specific section and Register Now.
When do I register?
For Returning Students
Dates for course registration are announced by the Office of Admissions, Records, and Registration. Currently enrolled students are sent priority registration information from that office. Dates and locations for registration are also published in each semester's registration brochure and online here.
For New Students
Registration for new students who have been formally accepted to the College begins as early as May for the fall semester or December for the spring semester. Upon completion of placement testing, students are directed to sign up for an advising and registration group session appointment.
