Computer Lab Information

Where are the computer labs, what software is in each lab and what are the hours that students can use the labs?

Computers are available for student use in the "Open Access Lab" area of the Libraries on all three campuses during the hours the libraries are open. (Library Hours)

All computer labs on campus with PCs have Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2010 Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access). Students are also able to access the Internet, their college email, the Learning Management Systems (Bb Vista, Canvas, Course Compass), My IT Lab, the Library databases, and WebAdvisor from these computers.

There are also several MAC labs on campus reserved for the Department of the Arts students as well as several MACs available in the MInDSpace area and in each Library for student use.

Additionally, various software programs are installed in the computer labs on all three campuses for use by the classes taught in each room. Computer labs on the Newtown campus are located in the Gateway Center, Penn Hall, Founders Hall, Multimedia/Music Building, Allied Health Building, and the Library. However, computer labs are not considered "open labs". The "Open Access Lab" area of the library is where students should go to complete class assignments that require the use of a computer.

In the event a course requires specific software that is used for the class and the software is not available in the Library Open Access Lab, then students may use the computer lab where the software is installed. However, students are not to use the computer lab when a class is in session without the permission of the instructor. Also, if a computer lab is locked, the student will need to contact Security and Safety to have the lab opened.
