Paralegal Studies

The Paralegal Studies program at Bucks County Community College was established to fill the ever increasing need for legal support people in the world of law. Courses are offered during the spring, fall and summer semesters. 

The purpose of the Paralegal Studies program is to provide profession al occupational instruction. This program will qualify students to serve as paralegals for employment by attorneys, law offices, governmental agencies, or other entities in capacities or functions that involve the performance of specifically delegated substantive legal work, under the ultimate direction and supervision of attorneys.   The degree program is available to those who wish to pursue the associate degree.  For those who have already earned thirty (30) college credits, eighteen (18) of which meet general education requirements, the certificate program is an available option.

The Paralegal Studies program at Bucks is approved by the American Bar Association and is a member of the American Association for Paralega l Education.  Bucks County Community College is fully accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.  The College is also an approved institution of higher education in Pennsylvania by the Department of Education of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The Business Studies Department, of which the Paralegal Studies Area is a part, is accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).
