Students must meet with an Office Administration faculty advisor. Site placement could be based on CGPA. Prior to Externship placement, students must submit:
- A "Request for Criminal Record Check"
- Child Abuse Clearance Form
- Certification of Health Status
- Certification in CPR: Health Care Provider
- Verification of Liability Insurance
- Application for BCCC Student I.D. Badge
- VI. Catalog Course Description
- The student is required to perform 160 hours of clinical practice at an affiliated clinical training site. Periodic meetings between the College's Externship Coordinator and student are held to review actual experience and observation in the light of theory and skills learned academically.

- Course Students will
- perform venipunctures and capillary punctures;
- collect quality blood specimens for the purpose of laboratory analysis;
- demonstrate proper techniques of collection, transport and requisitioning of blood specimens; and
- display a professional image.

Previous learned competencies in BIOL115, MEDA120, MEDA204, and MEDA205 will be performed while working in at a clinical site. -
