    This course examines the origins and relationships among the world’s three major religions Christianity, Islam and Judaism. Topics of emphasis include how the three religions influence one another and how they historically relate to each other in times of war and in times of peace.

    1. Learning Goals:

      1. Course
        2. Students will:
        1. demonstrate an understanding of the histories of Islam, Christianity and Judaism;
        2. evaluate the three major Near Eastern religions, Islam, Christianity and Judaism;
        3. describe their emergence and evolution from the cultures around them;
        4. analyze how their development was mutually influential; and
        5. compare current conflicts within and between these religions.
