Basketball

This exciting clinic is designed to teach boys and girls the essential fundamentals of basketball. You will learn all aspects of the game including basketball conditioning, dribbling, ball handling, passing, shooting, screening, offensive-defensive techniques, and rebounding. We will have competitions for shooting, 5 on 5, 3 on 3, dribbling and more. The staff will instruct and evaluate each player's performance and level of improvement. Instructions will be given on an individual basis by outstanding camp staff! Creative Hair Styling & Nail Care

In this fun camp, you will learn all about hair, skin & nails. Learn fun, easy ways to create hairstyles, first on a mannequin, and then on your own hair. Learn the importance of good nutrition and how it affects your hair, skin and nails. You will also learn how to take proper care of your nails and create fun and easy nail designs. Writer’s Workshop

In this camp you will write, develop, and share your stories with a group of peers in order to revise, polish, and complete a finished product. All modes of writing are welcome here – from fiction to screenplay, poetry to nonfiction, and essays to comic books, the choice is yours! You may come with a piece ready to share, or develop new writings through group exercises at camp. Theater Intensive - 3 week camp

This workshop for the older teen will explore acting exercises from the professional world of theater training. Exercises will stress creativity and self-expression. Students will learn to make exciting and artistic choices in acting and explore work in character development, movement, voice and play writing. Totally Skateboard - Camp Filled!
(must be 9 years old)

Do you grind? Can you ollie? Join us for our skateboard camp and learn all the basics steps needed to become a better skateboarder. We will start at the beginning, covering board stance, turns and pedaling. As your confidence grows we will give you instruction for basic board tricks. As the week progresses and your skills get stronger, you will be able to put them to the test at the Middletown Skateboard Park. Then spend the afternoon making your very own board. You will bend and shape the wood, sand and paint, and finally ride your new board home at the end of the week!

Requirements: Skateboard, helmet, elbow, knee and wrist pads, and a signed waiver. There are no exceptions to the required items. Those who do not have the required items cannot participate.

Inline Skating
Half Day Camp - 9 am-12 noon only!
(may be paired with Ultimate Frisbee)

Designed with safety in mind, this beginner's In-Line Skating clinic will give you an opportunity to learn the proper techniques of In-Line Skating. Basic safety information will begin with equipment fit, maintenance, and proper use. The basic skills taught will be forward movement, braking and turning. The clinic is structured so that those who quickly master the basics can move on to more advanced skills. You will proceed at your own comfort level. Requirements: Each participant will be required to have a skate with a rear brake, a helmet, and protective gear (elbow, wrist and knee pads). There are absolutely no exceptions to these requirements. Toy skates not allowed. If you do not have the necessary equipment, the clinic instructor for an extra charge will provide it for you. Jazz Workshop - Beginners-Intermediate

This one week intensive course is for intermediate level school musicians. You will focus on the aural and theoretical skills needed to improvise and how to apply these skills. Fabulous, Fantastic Faces!

You will be instructed in the basic techniques and applications of stage make-up - from shading and highlights of the "street/everyday" look to the detailed techniques of "character" faces including aging, facial hair, creature make-up, scars, and stage blood. Explore the variety of techniques used with facepaint and the various "face-painting" styles from the "tattoo" type painting, "landscape" type painting, to the full face character painting such as animals, creatures, princesses, etc. So, let's make-up and change the face of the world! Brilliant Bridge Builders

This exciting new camp is great for those campers who enjoy problem solving, engineering, designing, team activities, and a little friendly competition. You will work in teams to design the strongest bridge…using toothpicks and glue. Teams will use the Internet to find bridge designs, strategies, and tips for constructing the effective bridge. Advanced Woodturning Workshop

The advanced course focuses on improving spindle and faceplate turning techniques, while offering you the opportunity to work on more difficult projects. Considerable time is devoted to producing original objects that reflect care and craftsmanship in the production and finishing of larger turning projects. New challenges, such as turning a baseball bat, footstool, and bird feeder are balanced with projects that encourage you to explore individual design and creative expression. Beginner's Lacrosse for Boys & Girls

Learn the hottest sport around! The instruction is for boys and girls looking to better their skills. The focus will be placed on drills, skills and rules applicable to both the girls' and boys' game, which are very important toward the development of a complete lacrosse player.
