Admission Procedures

Students must turn 18 years of age within 6 months of the starting date of the Program.

ADMISSION CRITERIA:

  1. Completed application form.
  2. Completed PA Criminal Background Check and PA Child Abuse History.
  3. Educational Records:
    1. Official high school transcripts or equivalent
    2. Official education transcripts from post-secondary institution(s): The following college courses are required to be completed prior to applying the Radiography Program. A minimum final grade of "C"/70% must be documented for each course. A portion of the selection criteria for candidates is based upon the number of required courses completed and the student's corresponding GPA.
      • MATH (Level 100 Math course, three (3) credits - College Algebra preferred)
      • ENGLISH (Level 100 English course, three (3) credits - Composition I preferred)
      • INFORMATION SYSTEMS (Level 100 Computer course, three (3) credits-Introduction to Information Systems preferred)
      • SCIENCE (Level 100 Science course, four (4) credits-Chemistry 101 or Anatomy and Physiology I or II preferred)
      • SOCIAL/BEHAVIORAL SCIENCES (Level 100 Social Science course, three (3) credits-Introduction to Psychology preferred)
  4. Psychological Services Bureau (PSB) Health Occupations Aptitude Test results-25th percentile or better in each area of the exam.
  5. Two professional references (must be from employers or instructors)
  6. Observation Day (if all data to this point satisfies our requirements, the applicant will be contacted for an Observation Day appointment)
  7. Personal Interview (will be conducted by the Program personnel)

STEPS IN THE APPLICATION PROCESS:

  1. Submit the completed application packet by November 30th.
  2. Submit completed PA Criminal Background Check and PA Child Abuse History forms.
  3. Have official high school/GED results/college transcripts sent to the program.
  4. Take the Psychological Services Bureau Health Occupations Aptitude Test (PSB). Applicants are responsible to schedule to take the test after they have sent transcripts and the application form to the program. The applicant must receive a 25th percentile or better in each of the five areas of the exam in one sitting.
  5. Submit two professional references (from employers and instructors).
  6. Once the Program has received all of the above data, the applicant will be called to schedule an observation period.
  7. After completing the observation period, an interview will be set up with the applicant and program personnel.
