This 60-hour certificate will prepare you to enter the pharmacy field in hospitals, home infusion pharmacies, and community pharmacies as an ancillary, and work under the supervision of a registered Pharmacist. Included topics are medical terminology specific to the pharmacy, reading and interpreting prescriptions and defining drugs by generic and brand names. You will learn dosage calculations, IV flow rates, and drug compounding and dose conversions. Dispensing of prescriptions, inventory control, billing, and reimbursement will also be discussed.
