Healthcare Informatics

NEW

Are you looking to enhance your skills and build confidence in patient care information systems?

This 30-hour certificate program includes Health Care Informatics. This practicum course is designed for students who have successfully completed the Medical Billing & Coding or Medical Billing & Coding/Office Administration course and wish to apply that knowledge into a practical application. You will integrate your skills in a simulated environment using information technology.

You will learn how to use technology to implement processes in the patient care cycle. To prepare you for the medical practice management field, you will be required to demonstrate technical proficiency in managing the work flow of the patient care cycle.

This course will prepare you to function effectively in the broad work flow of health information positions in a wide variety of healthcare settings. These settings include: outpatient care, inpatient care, rehabilitation centers, drug and alcohol facilities, health departments, third-party payers, as well as other healthcare related organizations such as insurance companies, consulting firms and technology companies.
