FACULTY ADVISING
Faculty Advising is a process by which students work with faculty advisors to discuss appropriate course selections and future educational plans. Discussion may also include assistance with understanding the institution's curriculum, policies, and procedures, the transferability of skills and knowledge, academic success strategies, progress toward the degree, career objectives and transfer assistance. Students following a specific major or degree program are strongly encouraged to seek academic advising from faculty in the academic department in which their major is housed.
CONNECT WITH YOUR FACULTY ADVISOR FOR SPRING 2010 REGISTRATION
Prepare for your advising appointment! Print out and use this sample registration form to put together a trial schedule (or two) to help you and your advisor make the most of your appointment time.
SPECIAL NEEDS
You may be a student who is best advised by the staff of an office such as KEYS or disAbility Services. If so, continue to seek their advising assistance.
EMAIL ADVISING
Email Advising Services (advising@bucks.edu) to connect via e-mail with a Generalist Advisor. Propose your advising questions and you will receive a response within three business days. Receiving an advising approval code for registration as a result of this interaction is not guaranteed as some questions are unanswerable via this method and may be required to be discussed with your academic department faculty advisor. Take these tips into account when emailing an advisor with questions about your academic planning.
ADVISING FOR PRIORITY REGISTRATION
Advising for current/returning students wishing to register is done mid-semester for attendance in the following semester (November/December for the Spring Semester and April/May for the Summer/Fall Semesters). Notification will be emailed to your BUCKSMAIL ACCOUNT indicating dates, times, and advisor contact information.
