Opportunities for Incoming Students and Outside Scholarships

BEAN, The Christine Jordan Memorial Scholarship
(Tuition and fees for two academic years at in-county rate)

(Annual Application Deadline: April 1)

The scholarship is intended to aid current or future BCCC students who are in recovery from drug addiction. Consideration will be given to those who meet the following requirements:

  • Successful completion of a drug rehabilitation program.
  • Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits in a program in one of the College’s six academic departments, or in a non-credit certificate program.
  • Must intend to graduate with an associate’s degree or certification.
  • Must indicate the amount of credits needed to graduate with an associate’s degree or certification.
  • Must submit an essay that describes the goals they wish to achieve as well as how they plan to help others in need.
  • There is no minimum grade point average requirement.
  • Committed to abstain from drugs and alcohol for their lifetime.
  • At all times, candidates/recipient must be in good academic standing and in conformance with the College’s Code of Conduct; both will be verified by the Foundation.

Bridge to Higher Education Scholarship (up to $3,000)

(Annual Application Deadline: June 1)

This scholarship is intended for the Lower Bucks County community’s neediest students who don’t have the financial means to pursue a higher education degree, but nonetheless wish to enroll at BCCC in the fall semester. Students from the following populations are eligible to apply:

  • graduating Lower Bucks County public high school students
  • graduating Bucks County Technical High School students
  • GED graduates who reside in Lower Bucks County

There is no grade point average requirement to apply for this scholarship. To verify financial need for this scholarship, applicants may be asked to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). A recipient must make satisfactory academic progress once enrolled to receive the second installment of the scholarship.

Bucks County Council for Individuals with Disabilities Scholarship ($500)

(Annual Application Deadline: July 31)

Open to students served by the Office of Students with Disabilities

Awarded to a student who receives services from BCCC's disABILITY Services office.

Louis C. Catalanotti Scholarship ($500)

(Annual Application Deadline: July 31)

Awarded to a current student who majors in a program of study in BCCC's Department of the Arts, and who receives services from BCCC’s disABILITY Services office.

Mirca Liberti Scholarship ($500)

(Annual Application Deadline: July 31)

Awarded to a current BCCC student who is majoring in a field of study that will work closely with disabled people.

Council Rock Graduate MaST Scholarship ($1,000) 

(Annual Application Deadline: April 1)

This scholarship is intended to benefit a Bucks County high school graduate from the Council Rock School District (North and South). Preference is given to students residing in Northampton Township. Students must be applying to BCCC with the intention of enrolling as a full-time (minimum of 12 credits) freshman student majoring in biology, chemistry, physics, engineering or computer science in BCCC’s Department of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Applicants must submit their latest high school transcript, document community service activities at the high school level, and be in good academic standing (a minimum grade point average of 2.5) at the time of the application. Prior recipient is eligible to reapply for this scholarship if he/she intends to continue the program as a full-time student and has achieved a minimum 2.5 GPA for the past academic year. Preference is given to the prior recipient if he/she decides to apply.

Dean's Academic Scholarships

A limited number of Dean's Academic Scholarships are awarded annually in the fall semester to students meeting nomination and selection criteria.

First Federal of Bucks County

(Annual Application Deadline: September 15)

David M. Harris Honorary Scholarship ($2,500)
Harold F. Oswald Honorary Scholarship ($2,500)
George W. Shaffer Memorial Scholarship ($2,500)

These scholarships are intended to benefit high school graduates from the following school districts: Bristol Borough, Bristol Township, Bensalem, Morrisville, Pennsbury, Centennial, Central Bucks (East, West and South), Council Rock (North and South), New Hope/Solebury and Neshaminy. Students must be applying to BCCC with the intention of enrolling as full-time (minimum of 12 credits) freshman students. Applicants must document community service activities at the high school level and must be in good academic standing (a minimum grade point average of 2.0 which equals a “C” average) at their respective high school at the time of the application. Preference is given to students of customers and/or employees of First Federal of Bucks County. However, in the event that scholarship applicant finalists have identical credentials, the following rules apply:

  • The student demonstrating greater financial need will prevail.
  • The student of a customer will prevail over the student of an employee.

Applicants must demonstrate financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office.

Fresh Start Scholarship ($300) 

(Annual Application Deadline: April 1)

Awarded to a returning or new student (age 25 or older) who has recently suffered a life experience (divorce, death in immediate family, alcohol or serious illness) that required rehabilitation or familial support. Open to all majors, no GPA requirement, but must have financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office.

Gibb Foundation G.E.D. Scholarship ($500) 

(Annual Application Deadline: April 1)

Awarded to the student who, among all applicants, earned the highest score in the completion of his or her G.E.D. certification. This scholarship is open to all G.E.D. graduates who are currently attending or intend to enroll at BCCC.‌

Happ-Grover Fund of the Bucks County Foundation (up to $1,000) 

Awarded to students who reside in the Central Bucks School District. Eligibility is determined automatically when students apply for financial aid at BCCC.

Harry W. Fawkes Community Service Scholarship (minimum $500) 

(Annual Application Deadline: April 1)

Established by the friends and colleagues of Harry W. Fawkes as a tribute to his many years of service to the community, this scholarship provides financial assistance to graduates of Bucks County high schools, who reside in Bucks County, Pa., and intend to reside in Bucks County during the academic year for which the scholarship is awarded. Applicants must be or intend to enroll at BCCC on a full-time basis (minimum of 12 credits per semester), and must be in good academic standing and in conformance with the College's Code of Conduct.‌

Pickering Manor Licensed Practical Nursing Scholarship ($1,000)

(Annual Application Deadline: December 1)

The scholarship is open to all students who meet the following requirements at the time of application:

  • Enrolled in BCCC's Practical Nursing Program.
  • Graduate of a Bucks County public high school. Preference is given to students who graduated from the Council Rock School District.
  • Must register and reach benchmark of 65% on the the NLN-PN (The National League for Nursing) pre-entrance examination, administered by BCCC, to be admitted to the program.  
  • The application must be accompanied by a written recommendation as well as a brief essay describing how this scholarship will help meet his/her educational and career goals.

Rotary Club of Bristol Scholarship (Amount varies)

(Annual Application Deadline: April 1)

The scholarship is open to all students who meet the following requirements at the time of application:

  • Graduating high school senior or entering a post-secondary school for the first time.
  • Resident of Bristol Borough or Bristol Township
  • Planning to attend Bucks County Community College.
  • Record of involvement in any or all of the following:
    • School Activities
    • Community Activities/Service Religious Affiliations
  • Must have financial need.
  • Participate in a personal interview with members of the Scholarship Committee.
