BiographyA former student at B.C.C.C., I received the President’s Cup and the Alumni Association’s Outstanding Student award. My degree at Penn was earned summa cum laude, and I was named to Phi Beta Kappa in 2000. I am a costumed tour guide in Philadelphia, I volunteer at Independence National Historical Park, and I lecture to private groups on Benjamin Franklin, the U.S. Constitution, Betsy Ross, and on women in various periods in American History. I have been married for 44 years, and my husband and I have three children and seven grandchildren. | |
Shared ResourcesTelling stories about U. S. History is my second favorite thing to do, right after spending time with our grandchildren! Using a lecture format, I try to relate the past to the present, to focus on individuals and groups who helped to create this country and make it grow. I want my students to relate to the others who came before, and to feel like they are a part of the process. Since I work professionally as a tour guide, I would be happy to take students on a tour of historic Philadelphia, or to lecture on specific topics as listed above. |
