BiographyA native of Pittsburgh, I have lived in Newtown for the past thirty years. After 24 years in public education, mostly in the Humanities program at Council Rock, I came to teach Sociology at Bucks. Besides teaching, I work as a volunteer with inmates at the Bucks County Correctional Facility. Beyond the classroom, foreign travel is my passion. Visits to India, North Africa, Latin America and Europe have provided a wealth of experiences for my teaching and have enriched my life. Closer to home, I just love the city of Philadelphia. | |
Shared ResourcesSociology is a tool for understanding what’s going on in the world. It can help explain our daily lives in terms of the big ups and downs of our society. In our classes we investigate big questions about society, the economy, education and government. We will also examine how we fit into the global community. Our lively class discussions complement interesting readings on social issues and global cultures. For real-world experiences, we may join social science field trips to such places as Philadelphia’s ethnic neighborhoods, Graterford prison, Ellis Island and Little Puerto Rico. Together we make sociology useful and exciting. |
