My entire teaching career (over thirty years) has been dedicated to helping students with learning difficulties achieve academically. State certification in three areas (mathematics, elementary, and special education), in addition to certification as a college Developmental Education Specialist, has provided me with many opportunties to do this. Previous to teaching full-time at Bucks, I taught in the public school system for fifteen years. In 1989, I was awarded the N.J. Governor's Teacher Recognition Award. In 1998, the developmental program of which I was director, was recognized as one of the ten outstanding programs in the U.S. Presently, I'm advocating for students as President of PADE, the Pennsylvania Association of Developmental Educators. At Bucks, I continue to make contributions in the areas of effective instructional techniques and methods, establishing a productive classroom climate and rapport, and developing feelings of self-worth and love of learning in my students.
